Our craft and crew

Remote Aviation Services’ primary asset is a Beechcraft Kingair B90. The Kingair is one of aviation’s most respected brands, having built an enviable reputation for rugged turbine reliability since its inception in 1964.

 

ZS-MUM, affectionately known as “our MUM”, is RAS’ Beechcraft Kingair B90. She comfortably seats 4 - 5 passengers, while state-of-the-art avionics and a pressurised cabin ensure a safe and pleasant flight.

 

MUM is being maintained according to the Civil Aviation Authority’s stringent requirements and has an impeccable service record to her credit. Our senior pilot, Telly Thomas, is actively involved in the management and maintenance of the aircraft which translates into a proactive rather than a reactive approach. Telly liaises with MUM’s AMOs to plan her MPIs.

 

MUM is resident at Rand Airport but often collects passengers from Lanseria International Airport. She is also available to do collections at other airports in South Africa.

 

According to charter regulations, we fly with two pilots. Our crew members are well qualified and suitably experienced commercial pilots.
